Sierra Hull and the young American Mandolin Players

During the last years many young mandolin players have started their carreer in the USA. Sierra Hull and Sarah Jarosz have very successfully published their first albums. Dominick Leslie plays with the Deadly Gentlemen, Jenny Lyn Gardner with Della Mae, Josh Pinkham, Rebecca Lovell, Jake Joliff, Bryce Milano. It's very interesting to follow those young mandolin players and the new ideas that they contribute to the mandolin world.

Sierra Hull was fascinated by Sam Bush, she tried to immitate his style and has learned from him. She has been supported by Alison Krauss and has played together with her idol in a concert of the Woodsongs Radio Hour. The video of this concert is available at youtube - a great video that shows the little Sierra together with Sam Bush.

With only 13 she got a recording contract with Rounder Records, her first album Secrets was published in 2008, Daybreak followed in 2011.

Sierra has also appeared as a teacher at the Mandolin Symposium. She has studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
