Charles de Sivry (1848 - 1900)

Von Charles de Sivry findet man nur eine kurze Biographie in französisch. Er war Musiker, Komponist und Dirigent und hat unter anderem Claude Debussy gekannt.

Seine Méthode Élémentaire de Mandoline a 4 ou 6 Choeurs ist vermutlich vor 1880 erschienen, bisher konnte ich aber keinen Hinweis auf das Erscheinungsjahr finden.

Sie ist viel einfacher und altmodischer als die Schule von Cristofaro die 1884 erschienen ist. Die Mandolinenschule hat nur wenige Seiten, gefolgt von wenigen Kompositionen für zwei Mandolinen bzw. zwei Mandolinen und Piano.

Charles de Sivry (1848 - 1900)

Charles de Sivry was a musician, composer and conductor. I have not found many informations about Charles de Sivry except that  he knew Claude Debussy.

His method must be one of the earliest mandolin methods of the late 19th century, it is much simpler than for instance the method by Cristofaro which was published in 1884.

This method has only very few pages followed by some duets for two mandolins, one of them with piano accompanyment.
